Sip elegance alcohol-free: the Virgin Espresso Martini blends cold brew, non-alcoholic coffee liqueur and vanilla for a chic evening lift. Get the recipe.
Two ounces of cold brew, one ounce of non-alcoholic coffee liqueur, half an ounce of vanilla syrup, shaken hard over ice and double-strained into a chilled martini glass. That’s it. The froth comes from the shake, the caffeine comes from the coffee, and the result is a drink that looks and tastes the part without any alcohol. For more along these lines, see fancy mocktails that look like cocktails.
Serve alongside dark chocolate, citrus shortbread, or salted caramel. Coffee needs something with salt or fat to show off its bitter edges. The texture is silky, the temperature sharp, and it lands as a proper after-dinner drink rather than a compromise. If you’d rather start the morning instead, our iced matcha latte recipe gives you the same ritual with a different caffeine profile.
The Story Behind It
Weaver’s Coffee & Tea tracked the mocktail shift in 2026, and coffee was leading it. Good cold brew and quality non-alcoholic liqueurs meant you could build mood and flavor without spirits. This version keeps the late-night feel but gives you a caffeine lift instead of a buzz.

What You Will Need
- 2 oz cold brew or freshly pulled espresso
- 1 oz non-alcoholic coffee liqueur
- ½ oz vanilla syrup
- Ice
- Chilled martini glass
- Cocktail shaker and strainer
How to Make It
- Chill a martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes.
- Combine cold brew or espresso, non-alcoholic coffee liqueur, and vanilla syrup in a shaker.
- Add plenty of ice to the shaker to ensure a bright chill and slight dilution.
- Shake vigorously for 12 to 20 seconds until the exterior of the shaker is frosty.
- Double strain into the chilled martini glass to remove shards of ice and fine crema.
- Garnish with three espresso beans or a light vanilla dust and serve immediately.

Herbalist Notes
- Vanilla soothes and rounds coffee’s brightness; consider infusing syrup with a split bean.
- Choose a single-origin cold brew for floral or chocolate notes that complement the liqueur.
Make It Your Own
Experiment with a dash of orange bitters or a smoked salt rim for contrast. Swap the vanilla syrup for cardamom or tonka bean syrup to lean botanical.
