What You Need

Recipe 1 cup dried calendula flowers 1 1/4 cups olive oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil 2 tablespoons shea butter 2 tablespoons grated beeswax or beeswax pastilles 1/4 teaspoon vitamin E oil, optional 6 clean 1-ounce tins or small jars

Step 1 Add dried calendula flowers and carrier oil to a heat-safe jar or double boiler insert.

Step 2 Strain the calendula oil through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer. Press the flowers to release the oil, then discard the spent flowers.
