30 minutesCombine elderberries, echinacea, ginger, thyme, lemon balm, and cinnamon stick in a medium saucepan with 4 cups of cold water.
Remove from heat and let steep, covered, for another 10 minutes.
Combine dried elderberry, echinacea, ginger, and thyme. Steep in boiling water, covered, for 15-20 minutes then strain. Elderberry shortens cold duration; ginger soothes sore throats.
