What You Need

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup raw apple cider vinegar (with the mother)
8-10 fresh basil leaves
Step 1

Combine 2 cups quartered strawberries with 1 cup sugar in a glass jar or bowl. Muddle lightly to release juices.

Step 2

Cover and refrigerate for 24-48 hours, stirring once or twice a day. The sugar will dissolve into a ruby-red syrup.
